Well, we are planning a trip to Disney World in December and I started thinking about strollers.  Right now we just have a sit and stand stroller for the boys, which is great for the mall and short days.   But for the long Disney days,  I want to have a seat for them both to sit and be comfortable, take  a nap, etc.

My oldest is 5, and through much trial and error I have found out it is worth having a stroller for him when there is a lot of walking.  It is certainly something to consider and can make for a happier time for all when you don’t have a crabby kid or have to carry them out of the park, on the bus and then to the room.  So, I started looking in to renting a stroller.

Here are some options when it comes to renting:

1.  Disney Parks

  • For single strollers, Disney charges $15 per day. $13 for each additional day, for prepaid Multi-Day rental (plus tax).
  • For double strollers, Disney charges $31 per day. $27  for each additional day, for prepaid Multi-Day rental (plus tax).

Advantage of purchasing a multi-day rental is you don’t have  to wait in line each time you want to pick up a stroller,  you just show your receipt to the cast member giving out the strollers.   But, I have to say the Disney strollers are hard plastic and really not very comfortable.

Also, the strollers rented from Disney can only be used in the park where they were rented. If you “hop” between parks on the same day, you’ll have to turn in your stroller at the first park, then get a new stroller at the next park.  This also means no stroller for getting back to your resort.

2.  Magic Strollers

  • For single strollers, Magic Strollers charges $15 for the first day and $8 for additional days (plus tax).
  • For double strollers, Magic Strollers charges $25 for the first day and $9 for additional days (plus tax).
  • Insurance is an additional $25 for length of rental.

They rent top of the line Baby Jogger City Mini Single and Double strollers.  Every stroller comes with a “parent console” (cup holder and Velcro compartments) and is delivered in a canvas travel bag directly to your resort for FREE. They deliver to almost any Orlando/Lake Buena Vista/Kissimmee area resort, hotel or condo.

When you’re ready to depart, call Bell Services and have them collect the stroller in its travel bag. They’ll take it to a storage area where it will be picked up by Magic Strollers.

3. Orlando Stroller Rentals

  • For single strollers, Orlando Stroller Rental charges $50 for 1-3 days and $55 for 5-7 days (plus tax).
  • For double strollers, Orlando Stroller Rental charges $70 for 1-3 days and $75 for 5-7 days (plus tax).
  • Insurance is an additional $15 for single strollers and $25 for double strollers for the length of the rental.

These prices are for the top of the line Baby Jogger City Mini Single and Double strollers. For a little higher price you can also rent the BOB Revolution SE series or City Elite series, as well as the Liberty Special Needs Push Chair.   Again, every stroller comes with a “parent console” (cup holder and Velcro compartments) and is delivered directly for FREE to almost any Orlando/Lake Buena Vista/Kissimmee area resort, hotel or condo.

4.  Kingdom Strollers

  • For single strollers, Kingdom  Strollers charges $40 for 1-3 days and $60  for 5-7 days (plus tax).
  • For double strollers, Kingdom Strollers charges $55 for 1-3 days and $75 for 5-7 days (plus tax).
  • Insurance is an additional  $25 for the length of the rental.

These prices are for the top of the line Baby Jogger City Mini Single and Double strollers. For a little higher price you can also rent the City Classic  series.  Again, every stroller comes with a “parent console” (cup holder and Velcro compartments) and is delivered directly for FREE to all  Orlando area resort, hotel or condos.

It is nice to see that I have a lot of options when it comes to renting a stroller. All of these companies offer basically the same strollers and services. So in the end  it really comes down to price.  Here is a price comparison for my up coming trip of 7 days with a double stroller: $193 Disney, $79 Magic Stroller, $75 Orlando Stroller Rental and Kingdom Strollers.

I know that I will need the stroller outside of the park for the resort as well as if we visit Sea World or Legoland.  It is just easier to have one stroller for the whole trip.  Also, you will save a lot of money if you rent outside of the parks.  I will let you know how it turns out.

For those of you in need of a rental when visiting Disneyland, I found Orange County Baby’s Away.  They also rent car seats, cribs, toys, just about anything you might need while  you are away.
